Role: Pathologist Assistant I supporting pathology operations within a biopharma-focused clinical setting, primarily assisting in tumor tissue dissection, pathology report review, and sample testing. Responsibilities: perform macrodissection/microdissection, assess tumor content, organize slides and data, and ensure regulatory compliance. May evaluate CISH stains and assist in laboratory operations, maintenance, QC/QA, and training. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant science or medical field, certification (e.g., ASCP, AAPA) or MD, with 0-1 year experience; preferred Masters or PhD with 3-5 years in pathology-related roles. High-value biopharma specifics include work with tumor tissues, molecular analysis, and pathology workflows integrated into precision medicine projects. Experience with laboratory systems, high complexity testing, and handling biohazards is required. Physical demands include extended microscope use, sample handling, and occasional lifting up to 30 pounds. Training encompasses safety, compliance, and ongoing education. Travel and flexible hours may be needed. The role involves collaboration with pathologists and laboratory teams in a regulated, possibly high-noise environment.
