Role Summary

The Pain Territory Business Manager (TBM) is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with Health Care Professionals to promote the safe and effective use of JOURNAVX in acute pain. The TBM serves as a field representative within the community setting and collaborates with Pain Territory Account Managers to drive hospital and health system engagement, access, and physician adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes meaningful and professional relationships with assigned physicians to build awareness and drive adoption of JOURNAVX.
  • Develops and maintains expertise on the product’s clinical attributes and patient unmet need, educating healthcare professionals on appropriate patient use.
  • In-depth understanding of territory dynamics, stakeholder mapping, key decision makers, patient protocols, referral networks, access, and drivers/barriers.
  • Implements and maintains strategic territory business plans, identifies opportunities, and supports hospital-based account engagement strategies led by PTAMs.
  • Drives sales performance and ensures forecasts and budgets meet or exceed territory expectations.
  • Collaborates with field team members and headquarter colleagues to align business plans, share best practices, and inform initiatives.
  • Models ethics and integrity to support a culture of compliance and earn trust with external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Required: 5+ years of biotech sales experience; product launch experience is highly desired.
  • Preferred: Product launch experience in acute pain and successful engagement with diverse physicians.
  • Required: Experience engaging with retail pharmacies to ensure stocking and managed care pull-through.
  • Required: Experience implementing inpatient formularies, protocols, pathways, and order sets.
  • Required: Ability to understand nuances of patient treatment in the geography, including care coordination and referral patterns.
  • Required: Proficiency with IT capabilities to support business needs, including Veeva CRM.
  • Required: Experience working in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Required: Bachelor’s degree.

Additional Requirements

  • Must live and work within the territory; may require proximity to a major airport.
  • Valid driver’s license and in good standing.
  • Travel by car or airplane up to 80% of the time and work after hours as required by business needs.
  • 10-30% of overnight travel may be required depending on territory.
