Role Summary

Pain Territory Business Manager (TBM) for Charleston, WV. Establishes and maintains relationships with Health Care Professionals to promote the safe and effective use of JOURNAVX, a novel selective NaV1.8 inhibitor for acute pain. Reports to a Regional Field Leader and serves as a field representative within the community setting, collaborating with Pain Territory Account Managers (PTAMs) who manage hospital/health system volume, access, and targeted physicians within their networks.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes meaningful and professional relationships with assigned physicians to build awareness and drive adoption of JOURNAVX.
  • Develops and maintains expertise on the product’s clinical attributes and patient unmet need; educates healthcare professionals on product use in appropriate patients.
  • Develops deep understanding of physicians, territory & market dynamics, stakeholder mapping, key decision maker relationship management, patient protocols, referral network navigation, access, and drivers & barriers.
  • Implements and maintains strategic territory business plans to identify opportunities and patient-focused solutions for growth, supporting PTAM-led account engagement in hospital settings.
  • Drives sales performance and ensures forecasts and budgets meet or exceed territory expectations.
  • Collaborates with other field team members and headquarter colleagues to create aligned business plans, focus on strategic drivers, share best practices, and inform initiatives.
  • Role models ethics and integrity to support a culture of compliance and earn trust with external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Required: 5+ years of experience in biotech sales; product launch experience is highly desired.
  • Preferred: Product launch experience in acute pain and engagement with diverse physicians.
  • Required: Experience engaging with retail pharmacies to ensure stocking and managed care pull-through.
  • Required: Experience with implementing inpatient formularies, protocols, pathways, and order sets.
  • Required: Ability to understand nuances of patient treatment in the geography, including care coordination, patient referral patterns, and influence networks.
  • Required: Proficiency with IT capabilities to support business needs, including Veeva CRM.
  • Required: Experience working in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Required: Bachelor’s degree.

Additional Requirements

  • Employee must establish customer credentials and may need successful completion of trainings, background screens, drug testing, and vaccinations.
  • Must live and work within the territory; may need to reside within a reasonable distance to a major airport.
  • Valid driver’s license and in good standing.
  • Travel by car or airplane up to 80% of the time; may work after hours as required by business needs.
  • 10–30% overnight travel may be required depending on territory.
