Role Summary
The Pain Territory Business Manager (TBM) is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with Health Care Professionals to promote the safe and effective use of JOURNAVX in acute pain. The TBM serves as a field representative within the community setting and collaborates with Pain Territory Account Managers who drive hospital/health system volume and access as well as targeted physicians within hospital networks.
Responsibilities
- Establishes meaningful and professional relationships with assigned physicians to build awareness and drive adoption of JOURNAVX.
- Develops and maintains expertise on the product’s clinical attributes and patient unmet need; educates healthcare professionals on product use in appropriate patients.
- Understanding of assigned physicians, territory dynamics, stakeholder mapping, decision-maker relationships, patient protocols, referral networks, access, and drivers/barriers.
- Implements and maintains strategic territory business plans that identify opportunities and patient-focused solutions for growth, supporting PTAM-led engagement in hospital settings.
- Drives sales performance and ensures forecasts and budgets meet or exceed territory expectations.
- Collaborates with PTAMs, field medical, HEOR, IDN and Payer teams and headquarters to create aligned plans, share best practices, and inform initiatives.
- Models ethics and integrity to support a culture of compliance and earn trust with external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Required: 5+ years of experience in biotech sales; product launch experience is highly desired.
- Required: Product launch experience in acute pain and engagement with diverse physicians is highly desired.
- Required: Experience engaging with retail pharmacies to ensure stocking and managed care pull-through.
- Required: Experience implementing inpatient formularies, protocols, pathways, and order sets.
- Required: Ability to understand nuances of patient treatment in the geography, including care coordination, referral patterns, and influence networks.
- Required: Proficiency with IT capabilities to support business needs including Veeva CRM.
- Required: Experience working in a highly matrixed environment.
- Required: Bachelor’s degree.
Education
Additional Requirements
- Employee must complete trainings, background screens, drug testing and vaccinations as part of customer credentials.
- Must live and work within the territory; may need to reside within a reasonable distance to a major airport depending on geography.
- Valid driver’s license and in good standing.
- Travel by car or airplane up to 80% of the time and work after hours as required by business needs.
- 10–30% of overnight travel may be required depending on territory.
