Role Summary
The Pain Territory Business Manager (TBM) is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with Health Care Professionals to promote the safe and effective use of JOURNAVX, a novel selective inhibitor of NaV1.8 in acute pain. The TBM acts as a field representative within the community setting, reporting to a Regional Field Leader and collaborating with Pain Territory Account Managers to drive hospital/health system volume, access, and targeted physician engagement within their geographic area.
Responsibilities
- Establishs meaningful and professional relationships with assigned physicians to build awareness and drive adoption of JOURNAVX.
- Develops expertise on the product’s clinical attributes and patient unmet need; educates healthcare professionals on product use in appropriate patients.
- Develops deep understanding of assigned physicians, territory & market dynamics, stakeholder mapping, key decision maker relationship management, patient protocols, referral network navigation, access, and drivers & barriers.
- Implements and maintains strategic territory business plans that identify and harness opportunities for growth, while supporting the PTAM-led account engagement strategy in hospital settings.
- Drives sales performance and ensures forecasts and assigned budgets meet or exceed territory expectations.
- Collaborates compliantly with field team members and headquarter colleagues to create aligned business plans, focus on strategic drivers, share best practices, and inform initiatives.
- Role models ethics and integrity to support a culture of compliance and earn trust with external stakeholders in the market context.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in biotech sales; product launch experience highly desired.
- Product launch experience in acute pain and success engaging with diverse physicians preferred.
- Experience engaging with retail pharmacies to ensure stocking and managed care pull-through.
- Experience with implementing inpatient formularies, protocols, pathways, and order sets.
- Ability to understand nuances of patient treatment in the geography, including care coordination, referral patterns, and influence networks.
- Proficient in IT capabilities to support business needs, including Veeva CRM.
- Experience working in a highly matrixed environment.
- Bachelor’s degree.
Additional Requirements
- Employee will need to meet customer credentialing requirements, including trainings, background screens, drug testing, and vaccinations.
- Must live and work within the territory; may need to reside within reasonable distance to a major airport depending on geography.
- Valid driver’s license and in good standing.
- Travel by car or airplane up to 80% of the time and may work after hours as required by business needs.
- 10-30% overnight travel may be required depending on territory.
