Pain Territory Account Manager (PTAM) – Overlay, Southern California

The PTAM is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with key institutional decision makers and affiliated Health Care Professionals (HCPs) to promote the safe and effective use of JOURNAVX in acute pain.

Candidate can reside within Southern California borders. Overlay coverage across multiple territories in Southern California, flexing deployment based on business needs, territory vacancies, launches, and priority accounts.

This role reports into a Regional Field Leader and leads engagement with approximately 15–20 institutions (hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers), and select physicians within hospital settings or networks across Southern California.

Key Responsibilities
- Establish meaningful relationships within key accounts across multiple layers of the hospital system (medical/administrative staff, pharmacies, formulary decision makers, and KTLs)
- Maintain expertise on product clinical attributes and patient unmet need; educate HCPs on appropriate patient use
- Navigate formulary process; deliver key product value content for timely inclusion on formularies, pathways, and/or protocols
- Understand institutional customers: account/market dynamics, stakeholder mapping, decision-maker relationship management, patient protocols, referral networks, access considerations, and departmental drivers/barriers
- Implement and maintain strategic account plans to identify business opportunities and patient-focused solutions
- Drive sales performance; ensure forecasts and assigned budgets meet/exceed expectations
- Collaborate compliantly with field team members and headquarters colleagues to create aligned business plans and initiatives
- Role model ethics and integrity to support compliance and earn trust with external stakeholders

Required Experience/Knowledge/Skills
- 5–7+ years biotech/pharmaceutical sales; hospital/institutional product launch experience highly desired
- 3+ years account management leveraging existing institutional relationships
- Experience with Federal accounts
- Ability to navigate hospital systems, including formulary management and product review processes
- Experience implementing inpatient formularies, protocols, pathways, and order sets
- Strong IT capabilities, including Veeva CRM

Preferred
- New product launch experience

Other Requirements
- Complete required trainings/credentials including background screenings, drug testing, and vaccinations
- Must live and work in Southern California (reasonable distance of a major airport)
- Valid driver’s license
- Travel up to 80% (car/airplane), including overnight; work after hours as needed; 10–30% overnight travel may be required

Pay Range
- $133,600 - $200,400 (eligible for annual bonus and annual equity awards; overtime may apply in accordance with law)
