Position Summary
The Packaging Team Leader coordinates and leads daily activities on the pharmaceutical packaging floor to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant operations. Provides planning, scheduling, equipment setup/operation oversight, and guidance/training. Acts as backup supervisory capacity in the absence of the Packaging Supervisor to maintain packaging productivity, quality, and adherence to cGMP and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform supervisory duties in the absence of the Packaging Supervisor (oversight of cGMP documentation, equipment setup/operation, cleaning, maintenance; direct team; promote safe/compliant environment; manage labor/materials to meet schedules).
- Train employees, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with SOPs and batch record documentation.
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Validation to meet specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Operate/oversee packaging equipment (blister packers, bottle fillers, labelers, cartoners, serialization systems).
- Coordinate workflow across multiple packaging lines and shifts to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 10+ years in a manufacturing or packaging environment.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical packaging operations and cGMP requirements.
- Ability to lead, train, and mentor; strong documentation accuracy/attention to detail; excellent communication/interpersonal skills; ability to follow complex instructions.
Preferred
- Prior experience in the pharmaceutical or regulated industry.
