Role Summary
A Packaging Operator is an entry level position that performs general pharmaceutical production related tasks and responsibilities in a lean manufacturing environment. This includes inspection and packaging of products, as well as material handling and setup of packaging lines with "right first time" accuracy and efficiency. This position requires high attention to detail with regard to ensuring a quality product is provided to our customers and ensuring production related documents are complete and correct according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). It also requires the use of Microsoft applications and good organizational skills to maintain an orderly work environment.

Responsibilities
- Perform general pharmaceutical production tasks including inspection and packaging of products, material handling, and setup of packaging lines with accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure production documents are complete and correct according to SOPs and cGMPs.
- Maintain an orderly work environment and contribute to a safety-minded culture and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Required: High school diploma or GED
- Required: Basic math, English communication, legible penmanship, and reading comprehension; ability to follow detailed instructions
- Required: Basic use of Microsoft applications and general computer skills
- Required: Effective interpersonal communication and a positive outlook
- Required: Candidates cannot be allergic to Cephalosporin/Penicillin
- Preferred: Basic mechanical skills and experience with hand tools
- Preferred: Experience in a Lean Production and/or manufacturing environment
- Preferred: Knowledge of cGMPs and production practices
- Preferred: Reliable transportation and good attendance/time management skills

Additional Requirements
- Physical: Routine lifting of 20-50 lbs; prolonged periods of sitting and standing; manual dexterity; ability to keep up with production pace
- Work Environment: Exposure to airborne particles (including cephalosporin), near moving mechanical parts; eye protection and PPE required
- Shift: 2nd Shift, 1:45pm - 2:15am; flexible hours and overtime may be required
