Responsibilities / How Youβll Spend Your Day:
- Demonstrate knowledge of mechanical and electrical operations associated with packaging equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, assess anomalies, and determine impact on operations.
- Apply basic mechanical and electrical concepts to resolve problems effectively.
- Perform accurate and timely changeovers for different bottle/cap sizes and products; document activities per procedures.
- Conduct corrective and preventive maintenance; adjust equipment to meet output speed and quality standards.
- Multitask by responding to alarms, indications, and operational trends.
- Operate packaging lines/equipment per Packaging Batch Records for safety and quality compliance.
- Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
- Use Operator Interface Terminals (OITs) for template entry, verification, and performance calculations.
- Respond to faults/error messages, assess product impact, and address root causes promptly.
- Support other packaging lines/personnel as needed; communicate effectively and work collaboratively.
- Ensure compliance with CGMP, SOPs, Lock Out Tag Out, DEA, and OSHA regulations.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area; work extended hours when necessary.
- Perform Material Handler and/or Line Leader duties when required; train other operators/handlers.
- Read/write/speak/understand English; perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Your Skills And Experience:
- High School Diploma (required); Technical/Trade School certification (required).
- Equipment troubleshooting training desired.
- Knowledge of packaging equipment: Tablet/Capsule Slat & Channel Filler, Bottle Unscrambler, Cottoner, Capper, Desiccant Inserter, Induction Sealer, Labeler, Case Former.
- Familiarity with mechanical/electrical/controls/automation systems; Serialization/Aggregation knowledge.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand ~6 hours, perform strenuous repairs ~6 hours, and work at elevation with safety gear.
- Vision accuracy and color detection required.
