The Packaging Engineer I provides technical oversight of pharmaceutical packaging operations at Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs).
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site/remote technical support for project activities including commercial packaging, implementation/qualification of new packaging line equipment, and component change introductions.
- Serve as โperson-in-plantโ to oversee routine commercial packaging operations at CMOs as needed.
- Troubleshoot packaging process issues using technical expertise.
- Support packaging serialization implementation.
- Review and approve Master Packaging Records and executed packaging batch records, protocols, and reports.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Oversight of work at external CMOs.
Education/Experience/Qualifications
- Bachelorโs degree in a related discipline with at least 1 year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with pharmaceutical packaging operations.
- Experience providing CMO on-site technical support, including oversight of packaging issues and investigations.
- Experience working with internal and external partners.
Skills/Knowledge
- Proficiency with MS Office and specialized applications as needed.
- Understanding of labeling/packaging operations (artwork, bottle filling, blistering, cartooning, printing, serialization).
- Strong analytical and business communication skills; ability to present data/results concisely.
Work Environment/Requirements
- Primarily laboratory or office work; travel required (~15%).
