      Role Summary
 Outpatient Visit Research Nurse I – Dallas, TX. Lead and support early phase clinical trials in a fast-paced, office-based setting. Provide direct nursing care for healthy volunteers and participants, ensuring ethical conduct and participant safety during studies.
 
 Responsibilities
 
 - Ensure that the dignity, health, safety, and welfare of participants is always given the highest priority.
 
 - Be current with appropriate emergency certifications and company emergency policy and procedures.
 
 - Respond to emergency situations based upon nursing standards.
 
 - Utilize skills, knowledge, nursing diagnosis, and clinical judgement to provide a high standard of care for participants in clinical trials.
 
 - Utilize nursing assessment skills to observe participant general well-being and potential adverse events; document adverse events and take appropriate action as needed.
 
 - Obtain Informed Consent and continue the ICF process by educating, explaining, and informing participants of study procedures.
 
 - Administer investigational compounds (inclusive of parenteral) to participants according to the protocol and applicable regulations.
 
 - Perform study-related activities such as cannulation, telemetry, holters, vital signs, ECGs, venipuncture.
 
 - All other duties as needed or assigned.
 
 
 
 Qualifications
 
 - Associate’s degree or BS degree in nursing with current licensure in applicable state.
 
 - Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements.
 
 - Paramedic, EMT, LVN, LPN or RN, preferred.
 
 - CPR/AED certified.
 
 - ACLS-certified preferred upon entry to role. ACLS certification to be gained in role if not yet certified.
 
 - 0-1 year of related experience.
 
 
 
 Skills
 
 - Strong clinical judgment and ability to work in a fast-paced, protocol-driven environment.
 
 - Excellent teamwork and communication skills; capability to interact directly with participants and study staff.
 
 - Proficiency with electronic data capture and a technology-based workflow.
 
 
 
 Education
 
 - As listed in Qualifications (Associate’s or BS in Nursing). State licensure required.
 
 
 
 Additional Requirements
 
 - Previous Lead or Charge Nurse experience strongly preferred.
 
 - Willingness to work in a setting with shifting priorities and strict adherence to study protocols.
