Role Summary
The Operator, Packaging (Night Shift) supports packaging operations to ensure continuous supply of medicines. During project phases, they will help bring the area into service, become the subject matter expert, and train others. After project completion, they will operate the packaging process, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate cross-functionally while prioritizing safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership on the manufacturing floor to maintain safety, quality, and productivity and ensure reliable product supply.
- Maintain a safe work environment and support health, safety, and environmental goals; act as administrator and technical leader for operations.
- Serve as the primary technical resource for troubleshooting and issue escalation on the shop floor.
- Administer technical training and ensure operators are trained to perform tasks.
- Operate equipment and perform activities to meet production schedules; assist in checking execution documentation (Electronic Batch Record, SAP, Cleaning Logs).
- Drive objectives to improve safety performance, reduce deviations, boost productivity, and ensure training compliance.
- Support site leadership in building a diverse and capable site organization by following area operational procedures, quality processes, and controls; act as liaison between operations and support functions.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to effectively communicate (electronic, written, and verbal)
- Flexibility to troubleshoot and triage challenges
Skills
- Leadership and the ability to train/educate team members (Senior and Lead roles)
- Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMPs)
- Previous experience in operations/pharmaceutical industry
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems and electronic batch release
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
Additional Requirements
- Ability to wear safety equipment (glasses, shoes, gloves, etc.)
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts on days (2-2-3 schedule)
