Role Summary

The Operator Formulation/Prep is part of the Formulation/Prep Operations at Lilly’s Indianapolis Parenteral Manufacturing site. The role manufactures and fills injectable parenteral products for domestic and international markets and supports a best-in-class, global production line with advanced technologies. Operators will learn transferable skills from a global team and support current and upcoming products within a 24x7 operation. Location: Indianapolis, Indiana.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure strict compliance with established policies/procedures (Safety, Production Procedures, Sanitization, Gowning, Etc.) and complete training and qualifications to stay current and qualified to perform the job.
  • Adhere to Parenteral Plant safety policies and procedures, contributing to a safe work environment.
  • Perform sanitizations in classified areas to maintain the sterility of the area, operation, and product.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures and current Good Manufacturing Practices to ensure quality of product.
  • Document process steps on appropriate batch documentation following Good Documentation Practices.
  • Set up and perform operation tasks in both aseptic and non-aseptic processes.
  • Prep equipment for the filling line to use in the filling process.
  • Formulate drug products to be filled into syringes on the filling line.
  • Teardown and wash equipment used on the filling line.
  • Pre- and post-test filters used during drug product runs as well as filters used on canisters for equipment.
  • Must be able to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing tasks.

Qualifications

  • Required: High school diploma/GED
  • Required: Minimum 3 Years of Manufacturing Experience
  • Required: Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Lilly will not sponsor work authorization or visas.

  • Preferred: Commitment to Working Safely
  • Preferred: Mechanical Aptitude is a plus
  • Preferred: Hands-on-experience with tools and equipment is a plus
  • Preferred: Ability to demonstrate attention to detail
  • Preferred: Basic math skills
  • Preferred: Basic computer skills, with capability to learn in more detail
  • Preferred: Excellent documentation skills
  • Preferred: Completion of Post Offer Exam or Completion of Work Simulation, if applicable
  • Preferred: Military experience is a strong asset. Veterans are encouraged to apply.

Additional Requirements

  • Shift varies with areas to support 24x7 operations
  • 8-hour days for training
  • Transition to permanent day shift position as schedule progresses forward
  • 12-hour Days (3-2-2-3) permanent shift
  • Some overtime work may be required
  • Some products in Parenteral Operations are known allergens and consequently, a post offer allergy test may be required
