Role: Manufacturing Operations Manager overseeing the commercial-scale production of vaccines and therapeutics at Durham, NC. Main objectives include ensuring reliable manufacturing, employee development, process optimization, and compliance. Responsibilities encompass team leadership through coaching, managing daily operations, troubleshooting process/equipment issues, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining safety and quality standards. The role involves active communication, regulatory audit participation, and managing staffing and costs within GMP-regulated environments. Qualifications: High School diploma required; minimum six years of experience in manufacturing, technical, military, or support roles, or four years with a Bachelor’s in Life Science or Engineering. Preferred skills include GMP experience, electronic manufacturing systems (e.g., SAP), Lean Six Sigma, and supervisory background. High-value biopharma specifics: supports biologics manufacturing, sterile filling, aseptic processes, and cGMP compliance. Shift work includes rotating schedules with holidays and weekends; travel is approximately 10%. The position reports to site leadership and supports a manufacturing team on the shop floor.
