Summary
- The Supply Chain Operations and Logistics Specialist manages operations and logistics for U.S. marketed products from the U.S. 3PL partner to authorized distributors. Reports to the Executive Director, Global Commercial Trade.
Responsibilities
- Assist with movement of commercially released finished goods across the U.S. distribution ecosystem (with 3PL, specialty pharmacies, and distributors).
- Administer creation and maintenance of new business partners in Ionis ERP ecosystem (SAP S/4HANA) and manage customer setups with the 3PL partner.
- Integrate into the Order to Cash (OTC) team; partner with Accounting, Tax, Supply Chain, and IT.
- Collaborate with Commercial Quality Affairs, US Marketed Access, Patient Services/Commercial Trade & Distribution, Commercial Analytics, Finance, and Accounting.
- Assist with maintenance/oversight of required U.S. pharmacy state license renewals and updates.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain, Demand Planning, and Global Logistics to ensure validated, compliant delivery/transport to authorized distributors.
- Support distribution and purchase agreements (notice/notice periods, A/R reconciliation, returns processes, and other contractual obligations).
- Act as point person for field teams to maximize productivity compliantly.
- Perform OTC module roles as assigned; attend and represent Ionis at key industry/customer meetings; represent Supply Chain on internal teams.
Requirements
- Preferred: Bachelor’s/Associate’s (or relevant post-secondary) or significant industry experience.
- 5+ years bio/pharmaceutical experience within a commercial ecosystem with cross-functional partnerships.
- Strong operational/admin oversight; detail-oriented; experience leveraging SAP capabilities; manage PO and invoicing for vendors.
- General knowledge of the U.S. distribution ecosystem.
- Leadership, project completion track record, and strong organization, project management, presentation/writing, and proactive communication.
Benefits & Pay
- Excellent benefits package; pay scale: $21.44/hour to $30.55/hour.
