Role Summary

Oncology Territory Manager, Hematology – Portland, ME is part of Takeda Oncology’s sales organization. You will report to the Regional Director and collaborate with key stakeholders to execute account plans, educate customers on product use, and support market access initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Implement overall marketing and brand strategy for targeting and deployment of resources to key customers
  • Formulate effective strategies to achieve sales goals and product positioning goals within target accounts
  • Provide on-label clinical data to influence appropriate use of assigned product
  • Initiate and develop business relationships with high level decision makers and other influential groups
  • Formulate strategies to utilize account-specific targeted marketing materials to educate and address the needs of key stakeholders
  • Create account-specific business plans and strategies to gain access to key stakeholders
  • Provide real-time analysis and input on market conditions for development of targeted marketing strategies
  • Apply conceptual and practical expertise in own functional/technical area to achieve sales goals
  • Maintain competence in product knowledge, disease states, industry landscape, and organizational structure
  • Analyze data and prepare subject matter for business reviews
  • Serve as a technical/functional subject matter resource for colleagues and customers and continue to enhance skills
  • Complete accurate reporting (monthly territory action plan, expense reports, itinerary, inventory, budgets, etc.)
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and cross-functional partners
  • Utilize company resources prudently in line with guidelines
  • Report adverse events related to products in a timely, compliant manner
  • Maintain understanding of distribution and delivery systems for oral molecules and the in-office dispensing model

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of oncology or related specialty pharmaceutical experience
  • Required: Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Required: High comprehension of scientific knowledge and ability to communicate with medical professionals in a compliant manner
  • Required: Strong computer and technical skills and ability to analyze territory-specific data
  • Required: Maintain a valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Preferred: Previous launch experience in oncology
  • Preferred: Established rapport and relationships in geographic area
  • Preferred: Previous oncology selling experience
  • Preferred: Large account management experience in oncology with emphasis on major practices and academic/NCI/NCCN cancer centers

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (listed under Required Qualifications)

Additional Requirements

  • Travel: Range from 30-50% travel depending on specific territory (Portland, ME)
  • Training: Mandatory product training with examinations; transition to exempt status upon successful completion; eligibility for sales incentive programs after training
