Role Summary
The Senior Oncology Specialist will serve as the primary clinical liaison to medical professionals in the territory that includes Annapolis, Washington, Dover, Rockville, Silver Spring, and Bethesda, MD. You will provide current clinical knowledge of Amgen's oncology products and effectively communicate their clinical and economic benefits. You will create and execute a comprehensive territory plan to achieve sales targets and support product access and patient care. Relocation is not offered for this role.
Responsibilities
- Create and execute on a comprehensive territory plan, which includes delivering branded sales messages, executing planned programs, scheduling and following up with medical educational programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Utilize internal and external relationships to service and manage accounts, including ensuring product access, resolving/triage reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
- Craft an effective marketing strategy to drive sales.
- Analyze the business effectiveness of sales activities and territory analysis, and develop territory plans with the District Manager.
- Maintain passion for the products to sustain that passion through the sales cycle while building the brand and serving patients.
- Partner with colleagues to share best practices and stay curious and learn to grow as a Senior Oncology Specialist.
- Leverage knowledge of Oncology, disease state awareness, industry, regulatory and competitive changes to deliver agreed results.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelorβs degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related.
- Required: OR Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related.
- Required: OR High school diploma / GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related.
- Preferred: Preferred experience in Oncology.
- Preferred: Three or more years of sales and/or marketing experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or medical device industries.
- Preferred: Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology and inflammation; Neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases, and the diseases and treatments involved with these specialties.
- Preferred: Local market knowledge.
- Preferred: A Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
