Role Summary
Field-based and remote opportunity supporting key accounts across Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Valdosta, GA and the surrounding geography. The Oncology Sales Specialist will deliver sales performance and promote products within the oncology, hematology, or rare disease portfolio for Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation. The role requires strong commercial insight, curiosity, and a proactive, customer-focused approach, with the ability to leverage digital tools and data to improve sales opportunities in competitive markets.
Responsibilities

- Understand territory market landscape, competitors, market segments/dynamics, product and clinical data, and anticipate environmental changes to optimize execution.
- Develop and execute a call plan to achieve goals and improve access and sales opportunities, promoting a highly technical and innovative product portfolio to a sophisticated audience.
- Understand the local healthcare system landscape, EMRs, pathways, and PA-claims processing; develop and execute account-level plans.
- Utilize sales data reporting tools to identify trends and combine with customer insights to uncover territory and customer growth opportunities.
- Leverage social media to capture customer insights and drive tactical execution; adapt between non-digital and digital settings to deliver customized experiences.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
- Required: Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or similarly structured industries with large, geographically dispersed sales teams within the last 5 years; candidates from other complex sales environments (e.g., medical devices, diagnostics, life sciences services, insurance, consumer health, B2B) are welcome when strong field leadership and customer engagement are central to success.
- Required: Strong ability to collaborate cross-functionally within a matrix environment, communicate clinical product information, and navigate selling to large accounts and key customer segments.
- Required: Self-starter with analytic abilities to prioritize information and solve problems; ethical leadership and compliance with company policies and laws.
- Required: Reside within the territory or within a reasonable daily commuting distance (approximately 50 miles) from the territory border; ability to travel 60-80% across broad geography; must have a valid driver’s license.
- Preferred: Experience across therapeutic groups, disease states, account management strategy, and new product launches.
- Preferred: Broad understanding of patient services, market access, buy-and-bill, specialty pharmacy, reimbursement and/or medical calling on healthcare professionals for a sophisticated product or reimbursement pathway.
Additional Requirements
- Travel requirement: 60-80% across a broad geography; ability to drive and/or fly within the territory.
- Must have a valid driver’s license; driving is an essential function of this role.
