Role Summary

This is a field-based and remote opportunity supporting key accounts in Tampa Bay, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Claremont, Brooksville and the surrounding area. The Oncology Sales Specialist will deliver sales performance and promote product portfolios within oncology, hematology or rare disease for Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation. The role requires strong commercial insight, curiosity, and the ability to leverage digital tools and customer data to improve sales opportunities in competitive markets.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver messages clearly, handle objections effectively, and close calls with a commitment to action to influence customer behavior.
  • Develop deep understanding of territory market landscape, competitors, market segments/dynamics, product and clinical data, and anticipate environmental changes.
  • Develop and execute a call plan to achieve goals and improve access and sales opportunities, promoting a technical and innovative portfolio to a sophisticated audience.
  • Understand the local healthcare system landscape, EMRs, pathways, and PA-claims processing; manage accounts and execute account-level plans.
  • Utilize sales data reporting tools to identify trends and couple insights to identify territory and customer growth opportunities.
  • Use social media to capture customer insights and drive tactical execution to improve customer experience.
  • Move between non-digital and digital settings and use non-personal tools to deliver customized customer experiences.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university.
  • Required: Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or similarly structured industries with large, geographically dispersed sales teams within the last 5 years. Relevant experience in complex sales environments (medical devices, diagnostics, life sciences services, insurance, consumer health, or B2B sectors) is acceptable when strong field leadership and customer engagement are central to success.
  • Required: Ability to collaborate cross-functionally within a matrix environment, communicate clinical product information, and a track record of consistent high performance; proficient in selling to large accounts and key customer segments.
  • Required: Self-starter with analytical abilities to prioritize and apply information to meet key customer needs, and demonstrate ethical leadership and compliance with policies and laws.
  • Required: Residence within the territory or within a reasonable commuting distance (50 miles); travel 60-80% across a broad geography; valid driver’s license.
  • Preferred: Experience across therapeutic groups, disease states, account management strategy, and new product launches.
  • Preferred: Broad understanding of patient services, market access, buy-and-bill, specialty pharmacy, reimbursement, and/or medical calling on healthcare professionals for sophisticated products or reimbursement pathways.
