Role Summary

This is a field-based and remote opportunity supporting key accounts in Tampa Bay, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Claremont, Brooksville and the surrounding area. The Oncology Sales Specialist will deliver sales performance and promote products within the oncology, hematology or rare disease portfolio for Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation. Candidates should bring strong commercial insight, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to leverage digital tools to enhance customer engagements in competitive markets.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate cross functionally in each geography as ONE team, demonstrating influential leadership to build and achieve shared goals.
  • Demonstrate self-awareness, a passion for learning, and the ability to inspire others while embracing change to optimize execution.
  • Deliver messages clearly, handle objections, and close calls with a commitment to action to influence customer behavior.
  • Understand territory market landscape, competitors, market segments, product data, and anticipate changes to optimize execution.
  • Develop and execute a call plan to achieve goals and improve access and sales opportunities, promoting a technical product portfolio to a sophisticated audience.
  • Understand the local healthcare system, EMRs, pathways, and PA-claims processing; develop and execute account-level plans.
  • Use sales data reporting tools to identify trends and opportunities, combining customer insights to drive growth.
  • Leverage social media to capture customer insights and drive tactical execution and customer experience improvements.
  • Navigate between non-digital and digital settings, utilizing non-personal tools to deliver customized experiences.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
  • Required: Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or similarly structured industries with large, geographically dispersed sales teams within the last 5 years, or related complex sales environments where field leadership and customer engagement are central to success.
  • Required: Strong ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally within a matrix environment; ability to communicate clinical product information; proven track record of high performance; proficiency in selling to large accounts and key customer segments.
  • Required: Self-starter with analytical abilities to prioritize and apply information to solve problems for key customers; ethical leadership and compliance with policies and laws.
  • Required: Candidate must reside within the territory or within a reasonable daily commuting distance of 50 miles from the territory border; ability to travel 60–80% across a broad geography; must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Preferred: Experience across therapeutic groups, disease states, account management strategy, and new product launches.
  • Preferred: Broad understanding of patient services, market access, buy and bill, specialty pharmacy, reimbursement and/or medical calling on HCPs with respect to a sophisticated product or reimbursement pathway.
