Role Summary
Oncology Sales Representative / Specialist for the Richmond, VA territory. This field-based role covers Richmond, Virginia Beach, and Lynchburg, requiring travel to visit customers in person and attend national sales meetings/conferences. You will engage with customers to address identified needs, educate stakeholders about oncology products, and strive to achieve or exceed sales goals within your territory.
Responsibilities
- Attain or exceed the assigned sales goals for the geography, in collaboration with territory team members.
- Ensure customers have a seamless experience with the Oncology team by meeting with key stakeholders, understanding practice structure and business models, and building relationships to uncover needs.
- Communicate a patient-centered rationale for oncology products using approved resources and messaging.
- Demonstrate knowledge of multidisciplinary care, cancer staging, treatment options, pathways, and guidelines relevant to different tumors/diseases and their impact on patients.
- Analyze trends in a complex buying environment across multiple distribution channels (GPOs, wholesalers, specialty pharmacies).
- Review and evaluate patterns for products purchased and prescribed across outpatient/inpatient settings and contracts.
- Develop and execute short- and long-term plans in collaboration with the local team and district manager, understanding accounts and local market interdependencies.
- Ask insightful questions to understand customer priorities and needs to support engaging, approved messaging about the product portfolio.
- Maintain a consistent customer experience across divisions and collaborate with the in-scope customer team (e.g., Customer Team Leader, Key Account Manager, Nurse Educator, Field Reimbursement Associate, Medicare Account Executive).
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelorโs degree with at least 6 years of sales experience or a high school diploma with at least 8 years of equivalent experience.
- Equivalent experience can include professional sales experience, healthcare/scientific field experience with oncology exposure, professional marketing experience, or military experience.
- Valid driverโs license and ability to drive a vehicle.
- Travel as required, including overnight travel at 10โ15%.
- Residence in or near the district.
- Preferred: 2+ years of oncology field-based experience selling to oncology customers; oncology field sales or clinical oncology experience; documented history of strong performance in sales/marketing or oncology clinical roles.
