Oncology Field Medical Director (MD)

Field Medical Core Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute medical strategy and engagement for assigned customers in a territory (North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Washington DC), coordinating with Pfizer colleagues to achieve medical objectives.
- Maintain knowledge of relevant TA/disease states and Pfizer medicines; provide therapeutic area/product information to internal and external stakeholders.
- Serve as a conduit for Medical Information and customer insights; provide allowed information to HCPs and share customer viewpoints with Pfizer.
- Understand Pfizer Medical Affairs priorities to contribute to medical content strategy and execute aligned field tactics.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with HQ Medical colleagues, Medical Information, and other field medical colleagues.
- Deliver approved medical content via live/virtual presentations, written communication, and telephone/virtual conversations.
- Optimize patient centricity of medical communications using health literacy and cultural awareness principles.
Field Medical Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver approved medical content on Pfizer medicines and relevant topics.
- Identify and seek medical engagement from priority customer segments.
- Respond to direct unsolicited medical requests from HCPs with truthful, accurate, scientifically supported information in compliance with Pfizer guidelines.
- Field inbound HCP queries via established triage.
- Partner with Global Medical Affairs, Oncology R&D, and GPD to identify trial sites (including under-represented populations).
- Provide medical support for Investigator Sponsored Research (ISR) and cultivate TA expertise (congress data and literature).
- Provide asset leadership; understand study design/data interpretation and communicate with customers.
- Lead medically in the territory; collaborate on Patient Advocacy Group communications.
- Serve on cross-functional committees; represent Medical Affairs leadership with professional associations.
- Provide mentorship; participate in special projects.
Basic Qualifications:
- MD or DO required.
- 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Recognized SME across internal/external stakeholders; demonstrated leadership and ability to influence/collaborate.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; manage conflict constructively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Malignant Hematology expertise/clinical experience.
- Knowledge of SOPs/rules/regulations for Pfizer/customer interactions.
- Previous Field Medical experience.
- Self-starter with urgency; clinical/technical skills; demonstrated leadership/teamwork.
Work/Travel Requirements:
- Remote β Field based; operate a company car and travel 60β80% (weekends occasionally); reasonable proximity to an airline hub city.
Benefits/Compensation (if listed):
- Base salary range: $230,900.00β$384,800.00; bonus target 25% of base; eligible for share-based long-term incentive; comprehensive benefits including 401(k) match and retirement contributions.
