Role Summary

This is a field-based and remote opportunity supporting key accounts in Charlotte, Raleigh, Winston-Salem, Greensboro and the surrounding geography. The role focuses on oncology within large, sophisticated accounts, engaging with medical experts and relevant HCPs to expand product use, increase market share, and position the product to generate demand in compliance with company policies. You will create, coordinate, and implement an account-focused commercial business plan to achieve brand goals and align with brand priorities for the disease state, and use digital tools to deliver an impactful experience for key stakeholders within the account. Travel 60-80% across a broad geography; residency within the territory or within 100 miles of the territory border is required; a valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Drive demand and impact decision-making of Medical Experts (ME) and all essential HCPs by challenging existing treatment approaches and positioning Novartis products to drive product demand, in accordance with policies.
  • Identify and connect with Medical Expert networks on a wider level, directing HCP needs to other Novartis partners; ensure coordination follows policies.
  • Create, manage, and implement account-focused strategic business plans that reach account-specific goals aligned with the disease state's commercial strategy and adapt plans to complex relationships within sophisticated health systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners from Novartis and key account stakeholders to deliver a consistent “One Novartis” experience and provide suitable solutions for patient care.
  • Understand account payor mix and resolve product access issues such as buy-and-bill, billing and coding, and policy updates; know when to handle issues or refer to a partner.
  • Use multiple channels and digital tools for virtual engagement to meet customer needs, including virtual HCP interactions and digital resources to improve patient and customer experiences.
  • Familiarity with current and future digital platforms for marketing and sales and comfort using sales data tools to analyze trends and identify growth opportunities in the territory and customer segments.
  • Apply business analytics, market, therapy, competitor, and clinical knowledge to identify opportunities and trends to promote the product portfolio and increase sales.

Qualifications

  • Required: 5+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or similarly structured industries with large, geographically dispersed sales teams.
  • Required: 3+ years of experience in a specialty sales role with leadership skills in managing sophisticated accounts (including large academic centers), addressing access and reimbursement challenges, and coordinating with multiple partners.
  • Required: 1+ year of hematology, oncology, or rare disease experience.
  • Required: Proficiency in payer dynamics, distribution, and reimbursement, with strong analytical and decision-making capabilities to analyze data and adjust strategy.
  • Required: Candidate must reside within territory or within 100 miles of territory border, with the ability to travel up to 60-80% across a broad geography; must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Preferred: 3+ years’ experience in hematology, oncology, or rare disease, and account management or current local market experience.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university.
