Role Summary
This is a field-based Oncology Specialist role for Northern California. The position reports to the Associate Director, Strategic Account Management and involves building and implementing territory business plans aligned with brand objectives and business goals. The OS will develop thorough disease state knowledge and establish strong, professional relationships with oncologists, nursing and office staff, and others involved in the oncology patient care continuum. The role requires collaboration with peers and cross-functional partners, driving results aligned with brand expectations and AbbVie’s mission to improve patient outcomes. Responsibilities include creating a comprehensive strategic plan with measurable objectives, appropriate resource allocation, and adherence to ethical standards.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for meeting/exceeding assigned sales goals.
- Present disease state and product information to customers using persuasive, compliant selling techniques.
- Leverage sales analytics and customer intelligence to create high-impact, strategic plans aligned with brand objectives.
- Execute sales and marketing strategies within the territory with cross-functional partners and approved resources.
- Continuously build knowledge of evolving marketplace, territory changes, and disease state/product expertise.
- Collaborate effectively with all territory partners and external counterparts.
- Develop and execute a call plan that meets metrics and optimizes coverage to maximize sales opportunities.
- Comply with all laws, regulations, and policies governing AbbVie activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree – Preferred
- Graduate Degree – Preferred
- 6+ years Oncology sales experience (including gynecologic/ovarian cancer) – Preferred
- Proven track record of exceeding sales expectations
- Strong clear communication with a consultative selling style
- Competitive selling skills
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Background screening requirements including immunization, TB, HIV, hepatitis, and drug screening may apply
- Regular business travel by air or car
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening
