Role Summary
Oncology Account Manager, Hematology, Indianapolis: Responsible for direct promotion of Jazz Pharmaceuticals’ products and for developing and managing relationships with therapeutic specialists within an assigned geographic territory. Works as part of the commercial team to implement marketing strategies and tactics to achieve short-term and long-term sales goals. Reports to the Regional Sales Manager.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Account Management: understand internal and external customer needs, analyze prescribing and purchasing decision processes, identify key stakeholders, leverage available resources, and provide feedback to cross-functional partners regarding account trends and opportunities.
- Strategic Planning: define measurable objectives, develop tailored strategies and tactics for each customer, determine required resources, continuously review plans, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute account strategies.
- Teamwork & Collaboration: maintain enterprise mindset, leverage cross-functional partnerships with marketing, medical affairs, and market access, mobilize resources to meet customer and patient needs, share insights, and serve as main point of contact for designated accounts when appropriate.
- Selling Effectiveness: promote adult oncology products to physicians and healthcare providers in community and academic settings, build a network of relationships across accounts, stay informed on industry trends, and use analytics to inform next-best-action plans.
- Product and Scientific Knowledge: educate health care professionals on product indications, maintain clinical knowledge across disease states, respond to questions per guidelines, and challenge prescribers appropriately when needed.
- Execution: organize and facilitate meetings, represent the company at conferences and events, utilize CRM to manage interactions and records, ensure ethical marketing practices, and manage special projects within budget.
Qualifications
- Required Experience:
- Four-year college/university degree
- Excellent verbal and written communication with effective presentation skills in person and virtual settings
- Ability to meet territorial travel requirements
- Preferred Experience:
- Post-graduate business school study or training
- Minimum of 5 years in the oncology market
- Strong clinical, technical, and scientific knowledge of products and disease states
- Strategic thinker with experience driving a strategic account business plan
- Key account management experience in complex academic and community accounts
- Strong business acumen, problem solving, prioritization, and sales data analytics skills
- Teamwork and collaboration across cross-functional account management
- Results-oriented with proactive, self-motivated approach to driving sales growth
- Experience with pediatric and young adult ALL and bone marrow transplant highly preferred
