Role Summary

Oncology Account Executive - Phoenix, AZ. Field-based role focused on developing and maintaining strategic business relationships within Oncology departments and practices to educate on product benefits/risks, develop new business, and grow sales and market share by achieving sales plans.

Responsibilities

  • Uses opportunities to understand and address customer needs. Build strong relationships across accounts to benefit patients, physicians, and other HCPs within the geography.
  • Partner with in-house and cross-franchise leaders to identify, design, and adapt approaches and tactics within geography.
  • Deliver on-label technical and scientific presentations utilizing approved data to highlight benefits and risks, achieving sales quotas.
  • Serve as lead US Commercial contact with targeted accounts; collaborate with Brand/Strategic Marketing, GPO team, Thought Leader Liaisons, MSLs, and contracted SPPs to provide support for physicians and patients.
  • Build and update strategic and tactical plans for targeted accounts; facilitate site physician/treatment team training on approved and safe use of AbbVie’s products; monitor and report sales progress; communicate with internal and external partners.
  • Act as AbbVie key point of contact for each account; coordinate and ensure needed support is delivered timely and by the appropriate AbbVie or copromote partner.
  • Attend and participate in local clinician boards, societies, and HCP meetings; represent AbbVie and products; channel key information to internal partners; ensure on-label communications.
  • Remain current on clinical, market, and payer developments specific to oncology.
  • Complete required training and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Gather important information within accounts and articulate implications to the business and customers.
  • Transfer knowledge to internal partners and integrate methodologies that benefit customers and patients across indications/brands.
  • Maintain understanding of approved product label and disease state knowledge for impactful use with customers.
  • Optimize data, resources, and tools to identify opportunities and program strategy; participate in organizational programs where approved.
  • Demonstrate and maximize use of selling resources and tools.
  • Meet health care industry representative credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities; credentialing may include background checks, drug screens, and vaccination proofs.

Qualifications

  • Business savvy with ability to analyze data and define strategies to drive objectives.
  • Ability to meet customer needs in a complex environment with forward-thinking strategies.
  • Demonstrated leadership; experience in developing teams on complex projects.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Persistency and grit with a track record of success in challenging environments.
  • Travel: 30-40% travel, depending on residence location.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.

Preferred

  • Oncology, Specialty, or other pharma experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Account Management experience in any industry
  • Specialty Pharmacy experience
  • Healthcare industry experience, especially working with patients or consulting healthcare companies
  • People management or other leadership experience
  • MBA or other advanced degree
