Position Summary
The Oncology Account Executive drives sustained territory growth through new account acquisition and expansion of existing customer relationships. The role blends strategic prospecting, consultative selling, and high-touch account management to promote Caris tumor profiling solutions. Builds clinical/operational relationships with oncologists, pathologists, and stakeholders; ensures an exceptional customer experience from order initiation through report delivery; supports adoption and utilization of Caris molecular profiling solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new account acquisition and organic growth via strategic prospecting, value-based selling, and clinical education.
- Position Caris as a preferred or sole-source provider of tumor profiling and molecular intelligence solutions.
- Analyze territory opportunities and develop strategic sales plans to achieve growth objectives.
- Meet or exceed assigned revenue, activity, and performance targets.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through consistent in-person engagement.
- Ensure seamless customer experience across the full order lifecycle.
- Maintain communication with stakeholders and escalate issues when satisfaction is at risk.
- Execute retention strategies; identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
- Engage oncology clinicians across clinics, pathology labs, and hospital settings.
- Support physicians with ordering and interpretation of the CMI platform (including access to PHI when required).
- Advise on technology solutions (portals, EMR integrations, workflows).
- Maintain knowledge of molecular profiling, biomarkers, and competitive offerings.
- Provide consultative guidance on billing, reimbursement, and payer dynamics.
- Serve as a resource on laboratory reimbursement and operational workflows.
- Share market trends, customer feedback, and competitive insights with leadership.
- Collaborate with Client Services, Regional Business Directors, and Commercial Leadership.
- Maintain accurate CRM documentation and complete administrative tasks.
- Maintain assigned company assets; support meetings, conferences, and trade shows.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorโs degree.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant sales experience.
- Strong understanding of oncology practices and molecular diagnostics.
- Knowledge of billing and reimbursement environments.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a matrixed environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
- Valid driverโs license; willingness to travel regularly.
- Successful completion of pre-employment requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of sales experience focused on oncology or molecular diagnostics.
- Established oncology or pathology relationships.
- Familiarity with hospital systems and pathology networks.
