Role Summary

Oncology Account Executive โ€šร„รฌ Birmingham, AL. This field-based role requires residence in Alabama (preferably Birmingham) and focuses on developing and maintaining strategic business relationships within Oncology departments and practices to increase education on product benefits/risks, develop new business, improve resource utilization, and grow sales and market share by achieving the sales plan for the assigned oncology product and indications.

Responsibilities

  • Uses opportunities to understand and address customer needs. Builds strong relationships that provide market intelligence and support development of compliant and innovative programs and initiatives. Builds and maintains relationships across accounts that benefit patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals within the geography.
  • Partners with in-house and cross-franchise leaders to identify, design, and adapt approaches and tactics demonstrating resources within geography.
  • Delivers on-label technical and scientific presentations utilizing approved data to highlight benefits and risks, resulting in sales quota achievement.
  • Serve as lead US Commercial contact with targeted accounts in the assigned geography and collaborate with Brand and Strategic Marketing, GPO, Thought Leader Liaisons, MSLs, and contracted SPPs to provide customer support for physicians and patients, including site support and resolving issues.
  • Build, implement, communicate, and update strategic and tactical business plans for targeted accounts. Facilitate site physician/treatment team training on approved and safe use of AbbVie products. Monitor and report sales progress and communicate with internal and external partners.
  • Act as AbbVie key contact for each account, respond to questions, coordinate support, and ensure timely delivery of requested services.
  • Attend and participate in local societies and HCP meetings when appropriate; represent AbbVie and products, build relationships, and relay information to internal partners. All communications are on-label.
  • Stay current on clinical, market, and payer developments, trends, and issues specific to oncology.
  • Complete required AbbVie training and adhere to company policies and legal procedures.
  • Identify important information within assigned accounts/geography and articulate implications to the business and customers.
  • Transfer knowledge to internal partners and integrate standard methodologies that benefit customers and patients across assigned indications/brands.
  • Maintain understanding of approved product label and disease state knowledge for impactful use with customers.
  • Optimize external and internal data, resources, and tools to identify sales opportunities and program strategies for customers in assigned territories.
  • With legal/OEC approval, participate in relevant organizational programs in local markets.
  • Develop command of selling resources and demonstrate them to support strategies and maximize impact.
  • Meet health care industry representative credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory.

Qualifications

  • Business savvy: analytical ability to analyze data and define account/program strategies that drive objectives.
  • Ability to meet customer needs in a complex environment with forward-thinking strategies aligned with objectives.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Persistency and grit with a track record of success in challenging environments.
  • Travel: 40% travel, depending on residence location.
  • Driving a personal auto or company vehicle; valid driverโ€šร„รดs license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.

Preferred

  • Oncology, Specialty, or other pharma experience
  • Bachelorโ€šร„รดs degree
  • Account Management experience in any industry
  • Healthcare industry experience
  • MBA or other advanced degree
