Primary Responsibilities
- Execute and promote products in alignment with sales strategy in the assigned territory.
- Collaborate with the District Sales Manager on day-to-day sales and product promotion strategy.
- Analyze local market; develop, execute, and monitor performance to maximize product use.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product, disease, competition, and reimbursement.
- Determine, implement, and monitor optimal resource allocation (budgets, time) within territory.
- Use advanced selling and negotiation skills to communicate with target audiences.
- Identify, build, and leverage advocacy channels.
- Secure product access and reimbursement within institutional systems as needed.
- Manage travel and promotional budget.
- Complete required monitoring/reporting (expenses and call reporting) using approved systems.
- Maintain compliance with laws, regulations, and Vanda policies.
- Meet industry-standard credentialing requirements for healthcare providers/facilities and state/local governments.
- Additional ad-hoc projects as needed.

Education & Experience / Requirements
- BS/BA with GPA > 3.0.
- Minimum 3 years pharmaceutical sales experience preferred (may consider โ€œAssociateโ€ if not met).
- Atypical anti-psychotic and/or orphan drug experience preferred.
- Preferred: psychiatry/bipolar/depression/CNS or pain management specialty experience; reimbursement experience.
- Preferred relationships with psychiatrists and/or Community Mental Health Centers (or within 24 months) in assigned territory.
- Valid driverโ€™s license and clean driving history.
- Self-starter; goal/results driven; โ€œhunterโ€ mentality.
- Strong territory knowledge/relationships.
- Ability to travel (including overnights); must reside within territory.

- Clinical, patient-centric, tactical; excellent interpersonal/verbal/written communication.
- Navigate complex organizations; strong organization/work ethic.
- Manage multiple priorities; adjust quickly to roadblocks.
- Computer proficient; may lift/move up to 15 lbs.
