Role Summary
The Neuroscience Account Manager (Psychiatry) is responsible for executing and promoting products within the assigned territory, exceeding established goals by delivering value to customers through differentiated products and services. The role requires collaboration with the District Sales Manager, maintaining current product, disease, competitive and market reimbursement knowledge, and managing resources to maximize product use in the territory. Candidates should be able to travel as needed and maintain compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Execute and promote products in alignment to sales strategy in the assigned territory.
- Collaborate with the District Sales Manager on day-to-day sales and strategy direction related to product promotion activities.
- Analyze local market, develop, execute, and monitor performance to maximize appropriate product use in the territory.
- Maintain current knowledge of product, disease, competition, and market reimbursement.
- Determine, implement, and monitor optimal resource allocation within the territory.
- Communicate effectively using advanced selling and negotiation skills to identified target audiences.
- Identify, build, and leverage advocacy channels.
- Secure product access and reimbursement within institutional systems as needed.
- Manage travel and promotional budget.
- Fulfill monitoring and reporting requirements including expenses and call reporting using approved systems and processes.
- Maintain compliance with all laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Meet industry-standard credentialing requirements of healthcare providers, facilities, and government entities.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Required: BS or BA with GPA greater than 3.0.
- Preferred: Minimum 3 years of pharmaceutical sales experience; reimbursement experience; existing relationships with psychiatrists or Community Mental Health Centers in the territory; atypical antipsychotic or orphan drug experience; preferred specialty experience in psychiatry, bipolar, depression, CNS, or pain management.
- Required: Valid driverβs license and a clean driving history.
- Required: Self-starter with a results-driven track record; strong hunter mentality; ability to travel (including overnights); able to work outside normal hours as needed.
- Preferred: Reimbursement experience; strong territory knowledge and relationships.
