Role Summary

The Neuroscience Account Manager is responsible for exceeding sales goals by delivering value to customers through differentiated neuroscience products and services in the Psychiatry space within the Hudson River Valley territory. The role reports to the Neuroscience District Sales Manager and collaborates closely with the district team to execute the sales strategy, build relationships, and promote product access and appropriate use. The position requires strong product and disease knowledge, strategic account management, and compliant selling practices.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and promote products in alignment to sales strategy in the assigned territory.
  • Frequent collaboration with the District Sales Manager to respond to day-to-day sales and strategy direction related to product promotion activities.
  • Analyze local market, develop, execute, and monitor performance to maximize appropriate product use in defined territory.
  • Maintain a high and current level of product, disease, competitive and market reimbursement knowledge.
  • Determine, implement, and monitor optimal resource allocation within assigned territory, including budgets and time.
  • Communicate effectively using advanced selling and negotiation skills to identified target audiences.
  • Identify, build, and leverage advocacy channels.
  • Secure product access and reimbursement within institutional systems as needed.
  • Manage travel and promotional budget.
  • Fulfill monitoring and reporting requirements including expenses and call reporting using approved systems and processes.
  • Maintain full compliance with all laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Comply with credentialing requirements of healthcare providers, customer facilities, and state/local governments.
  • Additional ad-hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Required: BS or BA with GPA > 3.0.
  • Preferred: Minimum 3 years of pharmaceutical sales experience.
  • Note: Candidates not meeting work experience requirements may be considered for the “Associate” role.
  • Preferred: Atypical antipsychotic experience and/or orphan drug experience.
  • Preferred: Specialty experience in psychiatry, bipolar, depression, CNS or pain management.
  • Preferred: Reimbursement experience.
  • Preferred: Existing relationships (or within 24 months) with psychiatrists and/or Community Mental Health Centers in the assigned territory.
  • Required: Valid driver’s license and a clean driving history.
  • Required: Self-starter with goal- and results-driven mindset; proven track record of above-average results.
  • Required: Fortitude to sell and compete; hunter mentality.
  • Preferred: Strong relationships and knowledge of the territory.
  • Required: Ability to travel (may include overnights); out-of-territory travel to HQs, training, and sales meetings may be required.
  • Required: Work hours may include meetings outside of normal working hours.
  • Required: Must reside within territory geography.

Education

  • BS or BA with GPA greater than 3.0.
