Primary Responsibilities
- Execute and promote products in alignment with sales strategy in the assigned territory.
- Collaborate with the District Sales Manager on day-to-day sales and product promotion activities.
- Analyze the local market and develop, execute, and monitor performance to maximize appropriate product use in the defined territory.
- Maintain current knowledge of product, disease, competition, and market reimbursement.
- Determine, implement, and monitor optimal resource allocation (e.g., budgets, time) in the assigned territory.
- Use advanced selling and negotiation skills to communicate effectively with target audiences.
- Identify, build, and leverage advocacy channels.
- Secure product access and reimbursement within institutional systems as needed.
- Manage travel and promotional budget.
- Complete monitoring and reporting requirements, including expenses and call reporting, using approved systems.
- Maintain full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Vanda policies.
- Meet industry-standard credentialing requirements of healthcare providers, customer facilities, and state/local governments.
- Additional ad-hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications / Requirements
- BS or BA with GPA greater than 3.0.
- Minimum 3 years of pharmaceutical sales experience preferred (candidates not meeting experience may be considered for an โAssociateโ role).
- Self-starter; goal- and results-driven with a proven track record.
- Valid driverโs license and clean driving history; must reside within territory geography.
- Ability to travel (may include overnights) and work hours may include meetings outside normal hours.
Preferred Skills / Experience
- Atypical anti-psychotic and/or orphan drug experience.
- Specialty experience in psychiatry, bipolar, depression, CNS, or pain management.
- Reimbursement experience.
- Existing relationships (or within 24 months) with psychiatrists and/or Community Mental Health Centers in the assigned territory.
