Role Summary

Network Solutions Architect is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for the design and architecture of Caris Life Sciences networking strategies. This role requires a skilled, dedicated, and proactive Network Architect with strong collaborative and technical skills to operate a fast-paced growing organization. The Architect role will have the opportunity to shape the future of Carisβ€šΓ„Γ΄s infrastructure capability and scalability while working with cross functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provides subject matter expertise in the creation and presentation of technical architectural designs.
  • Play a lead role in continuous process improvements, automation strategy, tools development and delivery of complex solutions.
  • Research and keep up to date on new technology and best practices to determine what improvements would best support current and future network performance. Design and implement local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks.
  • Anticipate technical issues at the product level and makes architectural and design decisions to avoid them.
  • Assist in building and maintaining architectural runbooks, hardware, and software refresh Lifecyle, and maintenance and support contracts.
  • Ensures successful implementation and system maintenance related to defined Standards, including participation in applying approved patches.
  • Support and monitors IT network systems to detect, evaluate and address networking security & vulnerability management.
  • Assists in defining processes and procedures to manage network security.
  • Provides technical support and consultation for enhancement of and changes to network configurations and associated processes following change management procedures.
  • Communicates complex technical information to team members and many levels of management.
  • Assist in the selection of appropriate design, product models, methods, and tools, consistent with agreed enterprise and solution architectures and ensures they are applied effectively.
  • Ensure that the system design balances functional, service quality and systems management requirements.
  • Participates in the cost, time and resource planning for projects and initiative implementations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of network architecture experience.
  • An in-depth understanding of current and emerging networking technologies is required.
  • Experience managing cloud/hybrid infrastructures.
  • Experience implementing HIPAA, PCI and PII regulated best practices.
  • Hands on experience with network segmentation, endpoint security and firewalls and access controls.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Service Now preferred or similar ticketing system.
  • Experience working in a healthcare organization.
  • Cisco CCNA, CCNP and Palo PCNSA certified professional.
  • Experience working in Agile Framework.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Demands

  • Must possess ability to sit, stand, and/or work at a computer for long periods of time.
  • May have exposure to blood-borne pathogens, extreme temperatures, high noise levels, fumes and bio-hazardous material/chemicals including formalin in the lab environment.
  • Occasional lifting of items up to 35 lbs. is required when installing some IT equipment.

Other

  • This position requires periodic travel and some evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
