National Training Manager, Surgical/Interventional Glaucoma, Eye Care

Glaucoma Surgical (secondary focus: Interventional Glaucoma) overseeing the design and delivery of clinical training for Field Account Consultants, FTCs, MSLs, National Accounts, and Institutions teams. Up to 60% travel.

Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple brands and collaborate with marketing teams and field leaders to drive strategic results.
- Align, design, and implement training programs supporting key marketing, sales, and business imperatives.
- Oversee accuracy and timely completion of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), ALC Attestations, and Franchise Annual Training Plan (FATP).
- Lead and participate in designing, developing, and implementing innovative training programs; build and support field training team expertise.
- Train AbbVie product representatives to become product-specialized subject matter experts.
- Assess and address training and development needs across salesforce and product teams; evaluate training progress, clinical knowledge, and performance; share insights with management.
- Deliver clinical training to physicians in private and institutional settings as needed.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex clinical cases; coordinate peer expertise and respond to requests for clinical support.
- Partner with marketing, sales, Medical/Legal/Regulatory/Compliance, and external agencies to ensure training content is relevant, accurate, up-to-date, and approved.
- Facilitate and deliver corporately sponsored training classes per annual training plans; improve training strategies.
- Manage content, learning journeys, and program delivery within digital learning platforms.
- Collaborate with training coordinators, administrators, and cross-functional departments to manage specialized training materials.
- Coordinate resources/actions to support long-term growth of the Eye Care team (โ€œOne Eyecare and One AbbVieโ€).
- Use field sales expertise to build relationships, gather insights, and support training and leadership in product positioning, competitive strategy, and communication.

Qualifications:
- Bachelorโ€™s degree required.
- 3 years of surgical experience preferred.
- 5+ years pharmaceutical sales or directly related experience.
- Strong clinical expertise in eye care, including optometric/ophthalmic disease states and therapies.
- Proven track record in project development, management, execution, and multitasking in complex cross-functional environments.
- Experience facilitating group conversations, training sessions, or workshops for diverse audiences.
- Exceptional organizational skills (time management, prioritization, coordinating multiple responsibilities/projects).
- Strong business acumen with analytical/critical thinking.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate plans, provide updates, and engage stakeholders/leadership.
- Ability to build relationships across cross-functional teams and foster continuous learning and development.
