Role Summary

The National Senior Director, US Field Medical leads the CRSsNP Medical Science Liaison team and Regional Directors to execute Field Medical strategies and initiatives. The role designs and implements medical strategy for the therapeutic area, drives attainment of US medical and business objectives, and collaborates across therapeutic field teams to ensure execution. Reports to the VP, US Field Medical.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes a plan and vision for the therapeutic area field team; aligns field strategy with overall medical/brand strategy.
  • Fully accountable for people management of Regional Directors and MSLs, including leadership, performance management, recruiting, training, coaching, and directing field medical activities.
  • Mentors Regional Directors for growth and development and maintains high standards of performance through an effective learning environment.
  • Creates a positive leadership culture and team environment.
  • Leads development of therapeutic area field medical goals, territory medical action plans, and overall field medical results; measures and reports progress.
  • Provides insights to enhance medical strategy; leads projects and workstreams; drives problem solving for Field Medical execution.
  • Serves as a national medical/scientific resource for planning, clinical insights, and intelligence; demonstrates high scientific knowledge and therapeutic area competency.
  • Supports R&D, Clinical Development & Operations, and Medical Affairs as requested; partners with Clinical teams to support pipeline and clinical trial activities.
  • Builds relationships with external HCPs and partners; demonstrates strong market knowledge and patient centricity.
  • Oversees talent selection and training for field medical positions; promotes cross-functional collaboration with Commercial and other Medical Affairs functions.
  • Manages the therapeutic area budget and ensures compliance with policies, SOPs, and regulatory guidance; maintains regulatory and compliance expertise within the team.

Qualifications

  • Strategic leadership experience; ability to set a vision and plan for a field medical team.
  • Advanced science/clinical degree (PharmD, MD, DO, PhD, PA, NP) with five or more years of relevant clinical/therapeutic experience (strongly preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years in a Field Medical leadership or equivalent management role; 8+ years preferred.
  • People management experience with coaching and development skills.
  • Experience leading field-based medicine projects and mentoring leaders/MSLs; product launch leadership preferred.
  • Strong adaptability to changing market dynamics; high sense of urgency and commitment to objectives.
  • Effective presentation and interpersonal skills; ability to work cross-functionally in a One Insmed environment.
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills; strong business judgment and influence without authority.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and translate business needs into opportunities.
  • Knowledge of PhRMA code, Sunshine Act, HIPAA, Promotional Regulations, and applicable laws.

Education
