National Sales Manager - GI Care

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for management and coordination of various sales support functions and activities for the franchise sales force.
  • Integrate and pull through marketing strategies and enhance execution to maximize ROI. Coordinate franchise sales training program including analysis and development of training opportunities and coordination with Sales Training, Marketing, Sales Managers to develop and implement training initiatives. Work jointly with marketing and training to clarify and integrate marketing strategies into Sales Training, both at IFTC and scheduled sales meetings throughout the year with the purpose of enhancing In-field sales force execution and effectiveness.
  • Work proactively across Franchise, Head of Sales, and Head of Marketing to bring ideas, processes and resources to the forefront in order to deliver key objectives.
  • Anticipate the needs of the Franchise and Head of Sales to deliver key areas for success of products and development. These include product needs of the GI Care portfolio as well as the overall development and timing of sales, marketing, and field personnel.
  • Work to take the lead in some key areas of the Franchise, including but not exclusive to: Meetings, Sales Leadership, Performance, Communication, Leadership Development.
  • Develop, build and deliver Head of Sales communication platform and pull through.
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales Management and various AbbVie sales support organizations to create, implement, and optimize all necessary sales support initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities, create, and implement strategies and leverage all necessary sales tools and programs to optimize sales opportunities.
  • Support franchise sales training program. Analyze training and developmental opportunities within the sales force. Coordinate with Sales Training, District Sales Trainers, Marketing and Sales Managers to develop and implement training initiatives to the field including ISTC, ASTC, Annual Meetings and DSTs.
  • Lead development and successful execution of all Sales meetings including RDDM, NM, Leadership Development, SD Forums, New Leader Onboarding, etc. Partner with VP, Head of Sales, Director of Commercial Strategy, SPC, Training, Marketing and meeting planning to successful build the vision, experience, workshops and pull through for each meeting or initiative.
  • Lead process to analyze and understand the sales operations needs of the field. Work with Sales Management and Sales Operations to help the field sales force better understand their business and to optimize sales. Work with Sales Reporting to create and implement sales reports.
  • Collaborate with Director of Commercial Strategy in developing and implementing sales force incentive programs for both regular and ad hoc incentive programs. Facilitate teamwork between Sales Management, Marketing, Sales Reporting, Commercial Analysis, Quotas and Incentives, and Sales Analysis.
  • With Regional Directors and Sales Director, develop, implement and successfully execute sales force communication plan to ensure clear direction and understanding and to maximize morale and motivation. Continue to pull through and amplify the GIC Pillars (EEDI, Culture, IFTE, Training/Development)
  • Work cross functionally with NSM peers, Sales Management, Marketing, Training. HR and various AbbVie sales support organizations to create, implement and optimize all necessary field initiatives.
  • Coordinate and build sales leadership presentations for clear and timely field touchpoints (ex: Quarterly updates, National and Regional meetings, and internal senior leadership reviews).

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree.
  • Required: 8+ years of successful sales experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry in progressive commercial leadership roles.
  • Required: 2 years of sales leadership experience required; 4+ years of successful sales leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Required: Proficiency across Microsoft Suite
  • Required: U.S. Commercial experience required with strong matrix skills and cultural sensitivity to work
  • Preferred: Previous marketing or marketing rotational program experience is strongly preferred
  • Preferred: Training or key account experience is preferred
  • Preferred: US Therapeutics business unit experience preferred
