The National Account Director (NAD) will serve as the primary point of contact for sales and account management activities for assigned managed markets customers (Commercial PBMs, payers and plans, as well as Federal payers and will also lead all contracting efforts. Most critically, the NAD is responsible for securing and managing profitable access to Avidity’s approved products, overturning disadvantaging payer policies, and developing business relationships with appropriate individuals within these accounts to meet the customer's and the company's business needs. They will also develop, maintain, and execute account business plans that deliver on the described requirements. The NAD will work in conjunction within the market access matrix to provide continuous information on current payer trends, PA and ME processes, as well as work with the payers to establish an understanding of their processes in order to remove access barriers and shorten time to treat.  In addition, the NAD will work cross-functionally as needed to ensure that there are seamless results for patients seeking reimbursement approvals.

What You Will Contribute

●        Strategically own formulary access, reimbursement, and profitability within targeted accounts specific to the Neuromuscular franchise.

●        Work closely with the MOVL to secure appointments to present sound clinical, pharmacoeconomic, and business presentations to key stakeholders within the responsible parties.

●        Work closely with assigned Medicaid agencies to educate on unmet medical needs and urgency to treat in a timely manner.

●        Develop and grow business partnerships within the assigned accounts in the defined geography and ensure formulary acceptance of Avidity products to achieve performance goals within assigned accounts.

●        Analyze and understand the local environment and account business and align Company priorities to create account plans that contribute to the defined business objectives.

●        Monitor account progress and act or evolve plans as appropriate (monitor customer contacts, plan execution, profit, value, volume growth, and market share).

●        Develop effective relationships with key C-Suite and administrative roles within an account (i.e., CEO, CFE, CFO, CMO, Pharmacy Director, Medical Director, Case Management, Dir. of Quality, Industry Relations, etc.).

●        Develop a strong alliance with field-based colleagues to ensure the appropriate level of cross-functional support for customers within a defined geography and for developing and executing pull-through strategies.

●        Identify regional-specific opportunities and barriers to ensure corporate success.

●        Understand and engage in key local, national, and international healthcare issues/strategies, customer issues/trends, and best practices to establish credibility beyond product and therapeutic areas.

●        Co-develop and manage the execution of jointly developed customer plans, holding customer and internal company partners accountable for plan execution.

●        Provide leadership and development to internal and external matrix teams to support strong relationships with regional accounts.

●        Maintain open communication throughout the organization, especially regarding cross-region and cross-functional customer efforts.

●        Review and analyze contracted product performance at the regional level and within any assigned National plans and communicate account performance broadly with key internal stakeholders.

What We Seek

●        Bachelor’s Degree required.

●        10+ years of relevant pharmaceutical industry experience, including 5+ years as a National Account Director in Market Access.

●        Knowledge of managed care and pharmacy benefit management (PBM) customer segments, private and government, is required.

●        Excellent understanding of the US market access environment and decision-makers.

●        Experience in product launches with rare disease experience preferred.

●        Strong collaboration and leadership skills to influence internal and external decision-makers.

●        Working knowledge of the contracting function and all legal and regulatory requirements.

●        Exercise sound judgment and oversight to ensure integrity and compliance with company policies in all activities and communications.

●        Account management success in balancing the customer wants and needs with the important goals for what is right for the business and for patients.

●        Team leadership experience within a cross-functional matrix environment.

●        Demonstrated excellent communication (oral and written), teamwork, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with a sense of urgency and follow-up.

●        Ability to travel up to 60% and attend meetings and/or conferences as requested by management.

What We Will Provide to You:

●        The base salary range for this role is $232,750 - $257,250. The final compensation will be commensurate with such factors as relevant experience, skillset, internal equity and market factors.
