The MSL Team Lead is responsible for development of the vision, strategy and tactical plans, resource and budget plans, and ongoing development/refinement of the regional MSL team in collaboration with the VP and regional MSL Lead. Demonstrates ability to conduct scientific discourse with subject matter experts and key thought leaders in neurology/neuromuscular disease and/or rare diseases, and provides leadership directing KOL-driven activities. Contributes to development of MSL training, MSL process/policy, and thought leader strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees the Regional MSL team; coaches on field medical tactics and initiatives; ensures scientific excellence; fosters KOL relationships.
- Participates in cross-functional teams/workstreams to identify/communicate data gaps, support data generation and communication strategies, and contribute to Medical Strategy Plans.
- Leads and executes autonomously; sets goals, delegates, and delivers.
- People management for the MSL team region (strategic guidance, alignment around goals, training/motivation/influence, supports direct reportsβ career development).
- Ensures field team has appropriate medical/scientific information and tools for information exchange.
- Customer-oriented mindset; anticipates field needs and communicates insights to internal stakeholders.
- Attends/supports scientific meetings/conferences and represents the company on presentations/panels as appropriate.
- Develops/implements initiatives to maximize effectiveness while maintaining focus on priorities.
- Provides proactive KPI status reports demonstrating team outcome quality.
- Leads by example; drives teamwork and partnering across the company.
- Maintains compliance with industry/regulatory guidelines; applies knowledge to team activities.
- Ensures administrative task completion (e.g., Veeva, Concur; KOL interaction tracking; conference coverage; expense reports).
Qualifications:
- Graduate level degree required (MD, PhD, PharmD, NP/PA, DPT, MSN).
- 12β15+ years professional experience with at least 5β7 years field medical experience.
Skills/Experience:
- Proven autonomous, results-oriented leadership.
- Advanced knowledge of Sarepta products/competitive landscape/market and therapeutic literature.
- Decisive, action-oriented; manages multiple tasks and deadlines.
- People management capability.
