Job Title: Medical Science Liaison
Responsibilities:
- Master scientific content, materials, disease state, and therapeutic area to establish expertise.
- Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with thought leaders, academic centers, and researchers.
- Present scientific information and education on disease state, therapeutic landscape, and AbbVie products across the product lifecycle to healthcare professionals.
- Support research initiatives and physician-initiated projects (e.g., site evaluation/identification, recruitment, investigator meetings, external expert identification, external collaboration management).
- Serve as an internal medical/scientific resource for medically accurate, balanced disease-state and product communications/materials consistent with regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal cross-functional partners; support in-field commercial teams with account plans to meet shared business objectives.
- Provide ongoing training to medical affairs, field sales, and other internal personnel; maintain up-to-date clinical product and competitor knowledge.
- Apply strategic segmentation and optimal resource utilization.
- Ensure compliance with corporate/divisional policies and accurate documentation for HCP interactions; maintain annual expenses within budget parameters.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree required (PharmD, MD/DO, PhD, APP such as Physician Associate or Nurse Practitioner in a relevant discipline). Doctorate strongly preferred.
- Typically 0β2 years relevant experience.
- Problem-solving and analytic skills; ability to translate territory/corporate needs into actions.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other software; excellent written/verbal communication.
- Ability to learn and apply Scientific Storytelling, Identifying Mobilizers, and Active Listening.
- HCIR credentialing requirements to access facilities (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof).
- Ability to learn and convey clinical and non-clinical technical information; engage audiences.
- Willingness to travel up to 75%.
Preferred/Location Requirement (application instruction/eligibility):
- Must live in the territory or be willing to self-relocate to Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.
