Medical Affairs
Responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, and maintain professional relationships with thought leaders, academic centers, and researchers to ensure access to current medical/scientific information.
- Present scientific information and education on disease state, therapeutic landscape, and AbbVie products across the product lifecycle to healthcare professionals.
- Support research initiatives and physician-initiated projects (e.g., site evaluation/identification, recruitment, investigator meetings, external expert identification, external collaboration management).
- Prepare the marketplace in new therapeutic areas by building awareness and relationships in the medical community.
- Create/maintain relationships with internal cross-functional partners and work with in-field commercial teams to develop/execute account plans supporting shared business objectives; serve as a scientific resource to commercial partners.
- Serve as a medical/scientific resource to healthcare providers by answering unsolicited medical questions and addressing clinically related information.
- Conduct ongoing training to medical affairs, field sales, and other internal personnel as directed.
- Apply strategic segmentation and optimal resource utilization.
- Ensure compliance with applicable corporate/divisional policies and procedures, including accurate/timely HCP interaction documentation; maintain annual expenses within assigned budget parameters.

Qualifications:
- Advanced degree required (PharmD, MD/DO, PhD, or APP such as Physician Associate or Nurse Practitioner) in a relevant scientific discipline; doctorate strongly preferred.
- Typically 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and translate territory/corporate needs to support business and clinical objectives.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other software; excellent written/verbal communication.
- Strong interpersonal skills; presentation and teaching skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong planning/organizational skills.
- Meet HCIR credentialing requirements for assigned territory (e.g., background checks, drug screens, proof of immunization/vaccination).
- Ability to learn and convey clinical and non-clinical technical information effectively; ability to engage audiences.
- Travel up to 75%.
- Must live in the territory or be willing to self-relocate within KY, OH, and IN.
