Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with thought leaders, academic centers, and researchers in assigned therapeutic areas.
- Present scientific information and education on disease state, therapeutic landscape, and AbbVie products across the product lifecycle to healthcare professionals.
- Support research initiatives and physician-initiated projects (e.g., site evaluation/identification, recruitment, investigator meetings, external expert identification, external collaboration management).
- Prepare the marketplace in new therapeutic areas of interest by creating awareness and relationships within the medical community.
- Build and collaborate on internal cross-functional partnerships; work with in-field commercial teams on account plans to support shared business objectives; serve as a scientific resource to commercial partners.
- Serve as a medical/scientific resource to healthcare providers by answering unsolicited medical questions and other clinically related medical information issues.
- Provide on-going training to medical affairs, field sales, and other internal personnel as directed.
- Practice core capabilities in strategic segmentation and optimal resource utilization.
- Ensure compliance with corporate/divisional policies and procedures, including accurate/timely HCP interaction documentation; maintain annual expenses within assigned budget parameters.
- Live in the territory or be willing to self-relocate to NV, UT, Sacramento, CA.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree required (PharmD, MD/DO, PhD, or APP such as Physician Associate or Nurse Practitioner) in a relevant scientific discipline; doctorate strongly preferred.
- Typically 2+ years relevant experience.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and translate territory and corporate needs to support business and clinical objectives.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other software; excellent written/verbal communication.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and teaching skills; independent and team-based work; adaptable to new structures/processes; strong planning/organizational skills and leadership.
- Meet health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements (may include background checks, drug screens, proof of immunization/vaccination).
- Ability to learn and convey clinical and non-clinical technical information; engage audiences and improve retention.
- Willingness to travel up to 75%.
