Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with thought leaders, academic centers, and researchers to access current medical/scientific information.
- Present scientific information and education on disease state, therapeutic landscape, and AbbVie products across the product lifecycle.
- Support research initiatives and physician-initiated projects (e.g., site evaluation/identification, recruitment, investigator meetings, external expert identification, external collaboration management).
- Prepare the marketplace in new therapeutic areas (create awareness and relationships in the medical community).
- Collaborate with internal cross-functional partners and work with in-field commercial teams to develop and execute account plans supporting shared business objectives.
- Answer unsolicited medical questions and address other clinically related medical information.
- Provide on-going training to medical affairs, field sales, and other internal personnel.
- Practice strategic segmentation and optimal resource utilization.
- Ensure compliance with corporate/divisional policies, maintain accurate/timely documentation for HCP interactions, and manage annual expenses within budget.
- Live in (or willing to self-relocate to) the territory (Atlanta, GA).
Qualifications
- Advanced degree required (PharmD, MD/DO, PhD, APP such as Physician Associate or Nurse Practitioner); doctorate strongly preferred.
- Typically 2+ years relevant experience.
- Ability to analyze/translate territory and corporate needs; achieve business/clinical objectives.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint; excellent written/verbal communication.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, teaching, planning/organizational, and leadership skills; independent and adaptable.
- Meet HCIR credentialing requirements (e.g., background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination).
- Ability to convey technical clinical and non-clinical information; engage audiences.
- Travel up to 75%.
