Position Summary
The Molecular Technologist – Liquid Profiling performs routine high-complexity molecular techniques including blood processing and buffy coat extraction, RNA/DNA extractions, PCR, Next-Generation Sequencing, equipment maintenance, laboratory inventory, sample tracking, and receiving.

Job Responsibilities
- Sample preparation: blood centrifugation, plasma processing, buffy coat extractions.
- Perform RNA and DNA extractions; ensure correct patient labeling.
- Perform molecular techniques including real-time PCR and Next-Generation Sequencing.
- Prepare CAPA documents for nonconformance events across pre-/analytical/post-analytical phases.
- Participate in continuous process improvements, validations, and proficiency testing.
- Track/enter/monitor patient files in the Laboratory Information System.
- Maintain laboratory equipment (logs, cleaning/sterilization/maintenance/shutdown) as required.
- Perform only authorized high-complexity tests per laboratory director approval and required competency.
- Follow specimen handling/processing procedures; maintain records of patient test results.
- Ensure proficiency testing samples are handled/tested the same as patient specimens.
- Adhere to quality control policies; document QC, calibrations, and maintenance.
- Act when systems are outside acceptable performance levels; correct issues or notify supervisors.
- Document corrective actions when performance deviates from specifications.
- Perform high complexity testing under onsite supervision per CLIA.
- Accept other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Molecular Technologist I: BS in a scientific field; less than 1 year relevant experience.
- Molecular Technologist II: BS in a scientific field; 3+ years relevant molecular lab experience.
- BS in chemical/biological/clinical/medical laboratory science or medical technology (accredited).
- Technical data interpretation skills and troubleshooting ability.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); basic business internet use; skilled operating office equipment.

Preferred Qualifications
- MS in related field.
- RNA and/or nucleic acid extraction experience.
- Next-Generation Sequencing experience.
- Knowledge of lab safety for biohazards/chemicals and quality control procedures/regulations.
