Role: Molecular Geneticist in a clinical oncology-focused laboratory, developing and applying genetic and molecular biology techniques to identify targetable tumor alterations and inherited conditions such as cancer predisposition syndromes. Responsibilities: evaluate genomic profiles from solid tumors, liquid biopsies, and bone marrow specimens (NGS-based), develop and validate molecular assays, interpret complex test results, advise clinicians, maintain and improve genomic databases, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with CLIA/CAP standards. Qualifications: PhD in Genetics or related field; ABMG certification or active candidate status in Clinical Molecular Genetics; strong knowledge of molecular genetics and genomics relevant to oncology; excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills; ability to work independently and manage multiple projects. Preferred: laboratory management experience, NY State CoQ in molecular oncology, and familiarity with advanced genomic tools. High-Value: oncology (solid tumors, liquid biopsies, myeloid neoplasms), NGS-based testing, assay development, CLIA/CAP validation, clinical interpretation, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Work setup involves a clinical, high-throughput genetics lab in Phoenix, Arizona, with periodic travel and flexibility for evenings, weekends, or holidays.
