Role: Process Scientist specializing in peptide downstream manufacturing to support early-phase clinical supply for Lilly's new integrated research and manufacturing facility. Responsibilities: evaluate and transfer peptide purification processes, perform chromatography, TFF, lyophilization, and process validation; author technical documents, troubleshoot processes, and implement improvements; support scale-up activities and process optimization; collaborate with cross-functional teams including process engineering, safety, and analytical chemists. Requirements: B.S./M.S. in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field; 3+ years experience in peptide synthesis, purification, or manufacturing; proficiency with chromatography, analytical techniques (HPLC, LC-MS, NMR); experience with process transfer, scale-up, and lab documentation. High-Value: focus on synthetic peptide API, process transfer for clinical manufacturing, cGMP compliance, working in a fast-paced, startup environment at Lillyβs Lebanon, Indiana site; limited travel (<5%). WorkSetup: initial at Indianapolis/Carmel, permanent at the Lilly Medicines Foundry; manufacturing and lab environment.
