Manager, HVAC

Responsibilities:
- Lead HVAC operations for 24/7 troubleshooting, optimization, and reliability across commercial offices and pharmaceutical laboratories.
- Develop and manage hourly unionized staff, salaried employees, and contractors; ensure SOP adherence and training.
- Coordinate daily priorities/escalations with site leadership; manage staffing, scheduling, and workload balancing.
- Operate, monitor, and optimize BAS and HVAC control systems using data analytics.
- Develop/maintain HVAC strategies to support GxP (as applicable), cGMP, and other regulatory requirements.
- Lead root cause analysis and CAPA for HVAC issues, deviations, and failures.
- Monitor environmental conditions to support quality, energy efficiency, and cost-effective performance; escalate systemic risks as needed.
- Establish and report HVAC KPIs; support HVAC-related capital projects and vendor/SLAs.
- Develop/manage HVAC operating expense budgets; identify cost savings and energy opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with EHS, GxP (as applicable), DOT, labor, HR, and company policies.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- OR 5+ years’ experience in Maintenance/Engineering/Facilities/Utilities leadership (or comparable military experience).

Required Skills/Experience:
- 5+ years leading HVAC/Facilities/Utilities operations in complex, multi-building campuses.
- Strong HVAC design/operation/maintenance knowledge; BAS/BMS experience.
- Team leadership and experience with external service providers.
- EHS/regulatory compliance knowledge; familiarity with cGxP/regulated environments.
- Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and data-driven decision-making.

Preferred:
- Advanced degree; pharmaceutical/biotech HVAC/BAS experience (cGMP/GxP).
- Experience with collective bargaining units/CBAs; CMMS/reliability programs; project management; energy/sustainability improvements.
