The Medical Specialist (Sales Representative), Gastroenterology (MS) will report to the District Manager, Gastroenterology, and will engage adult and pediatric Gastroenterologists and other key customers within an assigned geographical universe, presenting clinically focused selling messages to create and grow revenue and consistently deliver product goals. The MS will develop strategy and execute tactics within key accounts in the Gastroenterology therapeutic area to generate product utilization. The MS will build strong working relationships with experts, Gastroenterologists, nurses, office staff, other healthcare personnel, and key patient advocacy support groups as directed. Will collaborate with district colleagues and alliance counterparts to address customer needs, market dynamics, and trends and support brand/corporate objectives; participate in congresses, local/regional meetings, and medical conferences as assigned.
Responsibilities/Required Skills:
- Advanced clinically-based selling skills
- Consistent sales performance in complex markets within compliance guidelines
- Ability to have positive impact with large groups, institutional settings, and Ambulatory Surgery Centers
- Results-oriented track record with product launches
- Passion and aptitude for science; proactive disease-state/treatment/healthcare trend learning
- Experience in-servicing/training office staff, nurses, and office managers
- Ability to partner/collaborate with internal field teams and alliance partners
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree/advanced certifications a plus
- 5+ years specialty pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical sales experience, including 2+ years in Gastroenterology market and/or similar subcutaneous self-injectable biologic specialty market
- Ability to travel and cover large geographic territories
