Medical Science Liaison, Uncontrolled Gout - Rare Disease - NC/SC/East TN (Territory: Charlotte NC/SC/Eastern TN)

What You Will Do
- Serve as a scientific liaison to the medical/scientific community; establish, develop, and maintain relationships with prominent experts and clinicians throughout the US.
- Network with external customers (medical thought leaders, academic institutions, large group practices, medical directors, managed care decision makers, pharmacy directors) per compliance/legal/regulatory guidelines.
- Communicate scientific/medical information and the commercial value of products to medical and internal/external audiences.
- Self-direct in a changing environment; obtain, integrate, and communicate customer feedback.
- Pair customers’ unmet needs with internal resources.
- Collaborate across functional areas to identify needs and opportunities addressed through scientific, medical, and health economic information.
- Identify potential speakers and train on scientific content for sponsored external speaker programs.
- Participate in national/regional conferences to support strategy, learn clinical trends, and maintain relationships.
- With medical affairs and clinical development, evaluate external clinical collaboration opportunities and facilitate IITs and company-sponsored trials.
- Monitor competitive environment and provide feedback to senior leadership.

Basic Qualifications
- Doctorate degree
OR Master’s + 3 years Medical Affairs experience
OR Bachelor’s + 5 years Medical Affairs experience

Preferred Qualifications/Skills
- Pharm.D./Ph.D./M.D./D.O. (or other doctoral degrees); 2 years biotech/pharma scientific/medical affairs.
- Exceptional oral/written communication and interpersonal skills (networking).
- Travel up to 60%; may work up to 15-hour days; learn new business applications (PC/iPad); proficient Microsoft Office; professional, proactive; strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication.
