Role Summary

Medical Science Liaison/Sr. Medical Science Liaison, Oncology - New England Region for Corcept. The Oncology MSL role focuses on thought leader engagement, insight gathering, and scientific education in a cross-functional Oncology Business Unit, covering the Northeast Region (Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Maine).

Responsibilities

  • Engage in clinically meaningful scientific discussions with thought leaders in gynecological oncology and other malignancies to enhance knowledge of Corcept and the role of cortisol modulation in oncology
  • Proactively communicate and educate health care professionals on disease states where cortisol modulation may play a role; provide responsive support for requests; engage in scientific exchange on non-clinical and clinical trial data and the clinical development plan
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with thought leaders, patient advocacy organizations, and oncology associations within the oncology community
  • Capture, analyze, and communicate insights from the medical and scientific community in a compliant manner to inform decisions by Corcept
  • Support company-sponsored clinical trials, investigator-initiated studies (IIS), scientific communications, publications, clinical and scientific education, advisory boards, and congresses
  • Maintain the highest standards of scientific, clinical, and technical expertise in relevant therapeutic areas
  • Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration within Medical Affairs and cross-functionally with Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Market Access, Marketing, Commercial, Data Analytics, etc.
  • Travel required – approximately 50-60% of the time

Qualifications

  • Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Technical Proficiencies:
    • Strong scientific oncology acumen: therapeutic landscapes, NCCN guidelines, clinical trial data, oncology cooperative groups, NCI/NCCN cancer centers
    • Core competencies: intellectual curiosity, managing change, teamwork, communication, achieving results, decision-making, clinical and scientific expertise
    • Strong business acumen across drug development functions
    • Excellent project management skills; ability to prioritize and deliver on time and within budget
    • Resource identification and collaboration with the MA team for resources
    • Change management and adaptability in priorities and territory
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Provide feedback to MA trainer and Senior Director to support quality improvement
    • Proficiency with PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; able to create/edit content with accuracy and detail
    • Experience with Veeva CRM (or other CRM) and Veeva Vault; SharePoint/BOX preferred
    • Maintain driving record per company policy

Education

  • PhD or advanced degree in medical science (MD, PharmD, MSN, PA, NP) required
  • 5+ years MSL experience; 2+ years in oncology
  • Individuals may qualify for MSL or Sr. MSL based on demonstrated level of experience
