Job Scope:
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) serves as a scientific peer and primary conduit between the company and the healthcare community and Key Medical Experts (KMEs). Partners with Clinical Operations and the global medical affairs team to optimize trial site selection and recruitment, provides the “voice of the customer” to refine lifecycle strategies, and serves as a strategic scientific resource for cross-functional field colleagues.

Responsibilities:
- Peer-to-Peer Relationship Management: Build long-term scientific partnerships with KMEs and healthcare decision-makers in territory.
- High-Level Data Dissemination: Deliver evidence-based presentations and lead deep-dive discussions on disease states and therapeutic pipelines.
- Congress Leadership: Represent the organization at major medical/scientific congresses and synthesize key findings.
- Actionable Insight Capture: Collect and communicate “voice of the customer” insights on treatment patterns and unmet needs.
- Clinical Trial Support: Partner with Clinical Operations to identify trial sites, support patient recruitment, and liaison for Investigator-Initiated Trials (IITs).
- Real-World Evidence (RWE): Identify evidence-generation opportunities demonstrating real-world therapy value.
- Internal Scientific Consult: Provide clinical briefings to Market Access and Commercial teams.
- Territory Strategic Lead: Translate global medical plans into localized tactics; provide competitive intelligence.
- Provide on-label educational/scientific/clinical information where appropriate.
- Product Launch Readiness: Execute disease-state priming and address clinical knowledge gaps ~24 months prior to approval.
- Matrix Integration: Ensure field insights influence Life Cycle Management, Disease Area/Brand strategy, and clinical development priorities.
- Territory Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a Territory Engagement Plan using analytics and CRM.
- Omnichannel Engagement: Use virtual platforms and social listening tools alongside face-to-face engagement.
- Regulatory Stewardship: Adhere to global/local compliance standards.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; PhD/MD/PharmD/advanced healthcare degree highly preferred.
- 3–5 years MSL experience preferred.
- Established relationships with Gastroenterology and/or Hepatology KMEs desired.
- Knowledge of FDA requirements related to MSLs.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing.
